One Wish by Lucinda Drayton (Blissful Music) played in memory of the Monk Rev. Handa who tragically lost his life a year ago.

If I had one wish, then what would it be
For each man and woman to live life in peace.
To live without fear in a world that’s secure.
Some say it’s a fool’s dream
But I’m not so sure.

I see all your faces on my TV
Driven and hungry with eyes full of tears.
Mourning your children, fathers and friends
Caught in a war, that just never ends.

How long will it be ‘til your life is mine and
All I’ve believed in has turned into lies.
With all that I am and all that I have
I send you this token, this love from my heart.

Oh I’ve seen a place much more than a dream
A place of such beauty it hurts just to see.
A place of no pain no crying no war,
Where peace is the treasure
That has been restored.

If I had one wish,
It would be this.

Fun run

Congratulations to Deborah Mc Nicholas of Milton Keynes who completed the 10K London Run in just over an hour in Aid of Operation Sunshine Family Therapy Programmes.

Deborah says:

I’m a bit back-to-front in organising sponsorship. Any money raised will go towards Operation Sunshine Family Therapy Programmes, helping special needs families by offering children and young adults with severe physical and mental disadvantages, the opportunity to fulfil their dream of swimming with dolphins and giving respite to parents.

Studies show Dolphins transmit their joie de vivre to humans and stimulate mental processes. This is caused – among other things – by the emission of endorphins, which can have both short and long term effects. Endorphins lift the mood, relax tensions and thus support receptive and learning abilities.

Any donations/pledges – no matter how large or small – would be gratefully received. You can make a donation, online through http://www.operationsunshine.org/html/fundraising.html

If you would like to help us fundraise by organising your own event, here are some ideas for you:

Sponsored events, e.g.: sporting events, physical challenges, cycling, walking, running, climbing, challenges abroad.

Your own stall, e.g.: cakes and refreshments, book stall, plant sale at a fete (find out what fete’s are going on in your area and ask the organiser for a charity stall).

Car boot or Garage Sale: turn your unwanted items into cash for a worthwhile cause.

Competitions, e.g.: raffle, tombola, guess the number of sweets in a jar, name the teddy, pub/school quiz; treasure hunts (on foot or by car); football match.

School events, e.g.: non-uniform day, Coin-A-thon (entrance is one coin and children use the coins for counting games to aid numeracy and raise money for a good cause)

Community events, e.g.: coffee morning, tea party, concert, bridge or snooker league.

Group fundraising, e.g.: Brownies, Guides, Scouts, church, golfers, fishermen, fitness club, amateur dramatics.

Use Everyclick search engine http://www.everyclick.com: make Everyclick your Home Page and raise money for Operation Sunshine Family Therapy Programmes every time you search the web (it doesn't cost you a penny).

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT - LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE PLANNING AN EVENT AND WE WILL ADD IT TO OUR EVENTS PAGE

ALL DONATIONS ONLINE WELCOME - please visit our Fundraising page.
